Join other homeschool families for an educational and fun program day! This is a great way to experience unique marine life while engaging in positive social interaction. Special rates will be offered on these days for admission, Glass Bottom Boat tours, Behind the Scenes Tours and Swim with the Stingrays.
Dates and Topics
January 16: Shark Dissection – Students will learn about the internal and external anatomy of a shark and will dissect in groups. *Book early for this program as it fills up quickly and we have limited spots available!*
February 20: Invasive Species Awareness – This program will introduce students to invasive species and will provide information on what you can do to prevent their spread. Students will participate in a game where they will see firsthand how invasive species effect ecosystems.
March 20: Birds of Prey/Owl Pellet Dissection – Students will learn about birds of prey and dissect an owl pellet!
April 17: Earth Day Celebration – Join us on this day for a beach clean-up followed by a shark tooth hunting session!
May 15: World Turtle Day – Learn all about scutes, beaks and flippers in this interactive turtle class. We will get up close and learn how a Green Sea Turtle gets its name.
Sept 18: Inky Examination- Investigate how cephalopods function in this hands-on Squid Dissection.
October 16: Blubber and Baleen- Find out which animals have these unique adaptations and learn why they are important for our ecosystem.
November 20: Prehistoric Creatures- Step back in time and discover what the ocean looked like millions of years ago.
December 18: Creatures of the Deep- Explore the strange landscape of the deep sea to learn about its unique inhabitants.
