FUN FOR STUDENTS OF ALL AGES

Travel through an underwater world during our field trips. Students will find themselves immersed in discovery of sharks, rays, colorful tropical fish, penguins and incredible learning experiences.

We offer both in-person and virtual field trips.

In-Person Field Trips

RATES

  • Grades K–12: $12 per student
  • Preschool Aged Children: $5.50 per student
  • Teachers: $5 per person (SC/NC teachers only)
  • Chaperones: $15 per person
  • 10 guest minimum

In-person field trips are self-guided. Please note, due to the high volume of requests, reservations are made on a first-come, first-served basis. The Field Trip request form does not confirm your reservation. Our Education Team will respond to confirm your reservation. If you have any questions or need additional assistance, please contact (843) 916-0888 ext. 3233. We accept cash and credit cards.

LUNCHES

We will prepare a cafeteria-style meal for you and your students to enjoy away from the hustle and bustle of the crowds.

  • Slice of cheese pizza, chips, and a drink
  • Cost: $8 per meal

Space for lunch must be reserved in advance. Please reserve as soon as possible; space is limited and cannot be guaranteed. Lunch orders are due in our office, in writing, one week prior to your arrival date. Any changes not made one week ahead of time will be your financial responsibility.

CLASSROOM PROGRAMS

HABITAT? IT’S WHERE THE ANIMALS ARE AT!

What makes a habitat a home? Students will discover the characteristics of a habitat, and how animals are able to survive in their extreme habitats. We will also dive into food webs and food chains to see who’s really at the top.

SHARK SQUAD

What adaptations allow sharks to remain apex predators? Students will dive in to discover the advantages of these adaptations, explore the diversity of cartilaginous fish like sharks, and uncover what challenges they faces in our current ocean state.

PENGUIN POSSE

Waddle into the world of penguin biology, care, and conservation! In this engaging class we will study our flightless friends. Students will learn what factors are driving the decline of the African Penguin population and find out what we can do to help!

TURTLE TALK

Dive into the world of sea turtles! In this class, students will learn all about how sea turtles survive in our oceans and what dangers they face. We’ll even get to talk about our resident green sea turtle, Gabby.

ADD ON TO YOUR FIELD TRIP!

Dive into discovery during one of our classroom programs! Our 30-minute programs are hosted by one of our jaw-some Educators, and are an excellent addition to your Field Trip. Be shore to bring questions for the Q&A session at the end!

These programs can be scaled up or down to fit every grade level.

EXPLORE THE AQUARIUMS FROM SCHOOL

Discover the wonders of Ripley’s Aquarium of Myrtle Beach and come face-to-face with our aquatic animal residents from anywhere in the world with a guided Virtual Tour! Your live guide will take you through the Aquarium’s galleries, stopping to chat with animal experts along the way to learn more about some of our guests’ favorite exhibits, like Penguin Playhouse and Dangerous Reef!

PRICE: $100 per class

WHAT TO EXPECT

Our Virtual Tour is hosted by a live educator who will take you through the Aquarium via prerecorded footage. This footage provides our virtual guests with the most comprehensive experience, allowing you to get up close with our animals and have the chance to learn more about them from husbandry staff and marine biologists—something we would otherwise not be able to guarantee.

Your tour’s live educator, knowledgeable on every nook and cranny of the Aquarium, will be there to answer questions throughout and after your Virtual Tour—leaving no shell left unturned!

How long are Virtual Field Trips?

Our Virtual Field Trips range from 45 to 60 minutes, depending on how many curious questions you may have for your guide! If this does not fit into your class time, we are happy to accommodate. Please inquire about catering the Virtual Field Trip to your class’s needs via the form on this page.

How do I access the Virtual Field Trips?

After confirming your tour, you will receive a receipt detailing your purchase. Our Education team will follow-up with an email that will contain information on how to access your Virtual Field Trip. Tours will be conducted on your school’s preferred platform. Just let us know what works best for you and your students!

When are Virtual Field Trips conducted?

Virtual Field Trips take place when you want them to! Simply detail your preferences on the request form.

What if I need to cancel my Virtual Field Trips?

Virtual Field Trips are nonrefundable but can be rescheduled for a later date.
