Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada is proud to offer a one of a kind experience for guests to be in Ray Bay with our Cownose and Southern Stingrays.

New! Daily at 3pm, Snorkel with the Stingrays!

*additional $25 fee + tax per person applies to all guests in the 3pm session.

Guest Count

The Stingray Experience can accommodate a maximum of 6 guests.

*Must be at least 6 years of age to participate, children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult.

Booking Times

Please indicate which dates you will be available. Stingray Experience slots fill up quickly, we will do our best to accommodate your preferred date. Requests submitted less than 72 hours in advance may not be able to be accommodated.

When does Stingray Experience happen?

The Stingray experience will happen at scheduled times throughout the day/week.  Please select your preferred date and time on the pre-registration form.

How much does Stingray Experience cost?

The Stingray Experience is $120 for an adult (14-99 years)
$110 for a youth (age 6-13)*must be accompanied by a paying adult
$25 additional fee per person for snorkeling-daily at 3pm
Prices do not include HST. Price is in Canadian dollars.

I am an annual pass holder, do I get a discount?

As an introductory offer, annual pass holders will receive a 20% discount on the Stingray Experience.

Why do you need my height, weight and shoe size?

In order to provide you for an appropriately sized wetsuit we need your measurements.

Where do we meet?

Please meet at the coat check area in the lobby.

Can I visit the Aquarium before our experience?

Yes, please pick up your tickets at the coat check on the day of your experience.  Be sure to meet back at the coat check at your scheduled start time.

How old do you have to be to participate?

Children ages 6 and up are welcome to participate in the program.

How long does Stingray Experience take?

The entire Stingray Experience is 2 hours, including a behind the scenes tour and time to change.  The in-water time is approximately 30 minutes.  Participants can visit the Aquarium before their experience, after or both.

Do I have to be able to swim?

No, Stingray Experience participants will only be entering the shallow part of Ray Bay. A lifeguard will be present. However, if you are participating in a session which includes snorkeling it is recommended that you are comfortable in deep water and have some basic swimming skills.

Will I be able to feed the stingrays?

Only Aquarium husbandry staff members are permitted to feed our animals.

What is the Stingray Experience cancellation policy?

More than 3 days in the advance, full refund.

Less than 3 days, but more than 24 hours, 50% refund.

Less than 24 hours notice, no refund.

What should I bring?

Please bring a bathing suit (mandatory), and shower shoes (e.g. flip flops).  Towels and basic personal care products are provided.

How many people can participate at time?

A maximum of six (6) people can do the Stingray Experience at a time. If you are participating in a session which includes snorkeling, the maximum number of participants is 4.

What does the Experience include?

  • Admission to the Aquarium
  • A behind the scenes tour of the Aquarium through animals care areas and filtration systems
  • A presentation on stingrays
  • Wet suit and booties for use during the program
  • Access to a change room and shower
  • USB with a minimum of 50 photographs of your experience
  • A souvenir towel and bag
  • 30 minutes in water time with the stingrays

What is the itinerary of the Stingray Experience?

  • Meet at coat check at designated start time

  • Store belongings in locker room

  • Change in to wetsuits

  • Change out of wetsuits

Can I just show up at the Aquarium without pre-registering for Stingray Experience and still participate?

Preregistration is required.  Walk-ups cannot be accommodated.

Can my family /friends watch me and take photos?

Guests are welcome to watch in the in-water portion of the program as long as they have purchased Aquarium admission.

Will other people be able to see me?

Ray Bay is a public area of the Aquarium.  Aquarium guests will be able to watch the in-water portion of the experience.

Is the Stingray Experience accessible for those with disabilities?

Yes, however some modification may need to be made depending on the disability.  Please speak with Aquarium staff prior to booking.

If I receive a promotion or discount code after purchase, can I get a refund on the price difference?

No, all special promotions and discounts are only valid for new bookings.
