What were you doing before joining Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada?
I’ve spent my career working in informal science education. Some of the organizations I’ve worked for include Scientists in Schools, the Ontario Science Centre, and Science World British Columbia.
Favourite aquatic animal in the aquarium?
It’s a hard choice, but I would have to say our two green sea turtles!
Best part about working at Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada?
The feeling of excitement our guests express when their walk through the front doors, whether they be families, summer campers or students on field trips. I also love hearing feedback from guests after they visit about how passionate our staff are.
Any other fun facts about you?
My favourite place to be when not working is at my family cottage in Muskoka with my two small nieces.
What made you decide you wanted to pursue a career in Education/Marine biology?
I love science and working with people. I started out on a path to a career in teaching, but fell in love with informal education and never looked back!
