What were you doing before joining Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada?
I was working as a Research Assistant in a project involving dairy cattle, as well as volunteering at a wildlife rescue. I am still finishing up my Masters in Animal Behaviour and Welfare at the University of Guelph.

Favourite aquatic animal in the aquarium?
I love the spotted eagle rays, and our sea turtles, of course. I would also love to learn more about the many tropical fish we have at Rainbow Reef, they are so beautiful to look at.

Best part about working at Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada?
I learn something new every day. Whether it’s from guests who have been diving in the ocean with some of our beautiful species, or from any of my knowledgeable coworkers, there is so much to learn about our aquatic life!

Any other fun facts about you?
I’ve worked with many species, including dogs, cats, dairy cattle, raccoons, turtles, snakes, birds, foxes, and possums. It was about time I added fish into the mix!

What made you decide you wanted to pursue a career in Education/Marine biology?
I love seeing someone’s face light up when you tell them an interesting fact, or when they are super engaged and asking great questions. I love having the opportunity to share what I’ve learned with others and hoping that it makes an impact on the way they treat animals and the environment that surrounds us.
