ABOUT OUR PARTNERS:
Shark Research Institute:
Few species are more misunderstood and more vilified by popular culture than sharks, and the Shark Research Institute is working to change that.
Through funding and sponsoring credible research, they provide fact-based, peer-reviewed information to inform and inspire change.
Current projects include visual and satellite tracking, behavioral and DNA studies, environmental advocacy, publication of scientific works, and public education.
Your donations to the Shark Research Institute will focus on the Greenland shark, and funds will go into the research and habitat protection of the Greenland shark. Learn more about these incredible animals here: https://www.sharks.org/greenland-shark-somniosus-microcephalus
Dalhousie University:
A long-time partner, Dalhousie University is a vibrant hub with regional, national, and global impact, recognized for the outstanding quality of its research and innovation, and a drive for discovery that aims to help the health and well-being of our environments and oceans.
Your donations will go toward the protection and research of the critically endangered Atlantic Whitefish.
The Atlantic Whitefish (Coregonus huntsmani) is a salmonid exclusively found in Canada, in the small region of Petite Rivière in southern Nova Scotia. The species is critically endangered. More detailed information can be found in the links below:
Ontario Turtle Conservation Network
Ontario Turtle Conservation Centre (home of Kawartha Turtle Trauma Centre) is a registered charity whose goal is to protect and conserve Ontario’s native turtles and their natural habitat. We accomplish this by operating a turtle hospital that treats, rehabilitates, and releases injured turtles by performing extensive research in the field to further conservation initiatives and running a comprehensive education and outreach program.
OTCC strives to increase awareness of the challenges facing Ontario’s turtles and to inspire individuals to act — that one person truly can make a difference!
Your donations will support the OTCC’s goal to protect and conserve Ontario’s native turtles and their habitat. Ontario Turtle Conservation operates a full turtle rehabilitation hospital and a comprehensive education and outreach program.

Ocean Wise: Seaforestation Project
Ocean Wise have been a long-time partner of Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada and have been on the forefront of research and sustainability programs focusing on ocean health for many years.
Ocean Wise’s work in seaforestation is an ocean-based solution to climate change. Kelp forests are a rich habitat for marine life, including commercially important fish and invertebrates. The forests protect the coasts from the impacts of extreme weather events.
They naturally capture carbon in large volumes in seaweed tissue, some of which gets trapped in the ocean floor for centuries. And if we find ways to use fast-growing seaweed and work with its natural processes, seaforestation can be a powerful player in helping to fight climate change.
Your donations will go toward helping to plant these vital underwater forests! For every $21 donated, Ocean Wise will be able to plant 50 kelp plants!
