Some have tentacles, and some, like Australia’s box jellies, are extremely venomous.

Jellies come in many sizes and shapes, but are more than 99% water no matter how big they are!

Aquarium Project Facts

  • The construction of this world-class marine habitat will create more than 600 jobs, producing an instantaneous economic impact of more than $50 million, $35 million of which will be labor income. Futhermore, during the two-year construction period, the project is projected to generate more than $25 million in taxes for all three levels of government.
  • The most anticipated and new family attraction in Toronto since the Hockey Hall of Fame, Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada is expected to draw nearly two-million visitors each year.
  • The 12,000 square-metre (130,000 sq.ft.) Aquarium will be one of the largest in North America, with a capacity of 5.7 million litre (1,500,000 gallon).

  • Wednesday, June 13, 2012 marks the first installation of the panels, commencing with the north section of the tunnel and using a total of six panels ranging in size from 4,672 mm x 5,698 mm to 7,244 mm x 5,698 mm and in weight from 2,201 kg to 3,338 kg
