Over 15 years of aquarium experience!
Ripley Entertainment Inc. opened its first public aquarium, Ripley’s Aquarium, in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina in June of 1997. Since opening, Ripley’s Aquarium has educated and entertained over 15 million visitors and is South Carolina’s most visited attraction.
Ripley’s second aquarium, Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies, in Gatlinburg, Tennessee opened in December 2000, and in its first calendar year of operation (2001) entertained 1,952,199 visitors, making it the most visited aquarium in all of North America that year.
In the next decade Ripley’s plans to build more aquariums in tourist markets throughout North America and the world, including Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada in Toronto, Ontario which is scheduled to open in 2013.
