Hydro-Testing of Shark Lagoon

Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada Introduces Water for First Time Hydro-Testing of Shark Lagoon Begins

With less than a year to go before opening, Toronto’s newest family attraction – Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada – has reached another milestone in its construction.

Hydro-Testing of the acrylic tanks that will one day hold more than 13,000 inhabitants is set to begin Friday morning, Come witness the event as the 2.84 million litre (750,000 gallons) Shark Lagoon is filled with water for the first time. The testing is the first step in making sure the acrylic tanks, supporting piping and life support systems have no leaks. Once that is established, the rock work theming will begin.

Media are invited to the construction site to capture photos and video of this milestone event.
